Meet Rodney

Rodney Wardlaw, a natural servant leader, emerges from the heart of Toombs County, nurtured by a family deeply ingrained in community service. His upbringing, under the guidance of a pastor father and a mother committed to the Department of Family and Children’s Services, instilled in him an unwavering dedication to others.

Prior to his community engagement, Rodney, alongside his brothers, forged TWB, a chart-topping Christian group, fostering connections with leaders nationwide. Recognizing an opportunity to empower their community, they established the Hand-to-Hand Heart-to-Heart Mentoring Program in 2001, elevating academic performance and earning accolades, including the Key to the City of Lyons, GA.

Driven by a profound sense of duty, Rodney embarked on a new chapter of service, answering the call of Mayor John Moore, Sr., to join the Lyons Police Department in 2010. His journey continued as he transitioned to the sheriff's office, excelling in various roles and earning promotion to Sergeant. Renowned for his integrity and proactive approach, Rodney extends his impact by joining the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Toombs County.

Academically accomplished, Rodney holds degrees in Law Enforcement and Liberal Arts from Thomas University, currently pursuing a third in Business Management at Morehouse College. He resides in Toombs County with his wife Ariel and their five sons, Rodney, Jorden, Josiah, Ivan, and Zayden, actively contributing to the community through their church and beyond.
